As part of the strategic realignment, digital services were to be integrated into bricks-and-mortar retail. The aim was to combine individual on-site advice with digital options - both for product information and for services such as availability displays, online ordering and other digital customer services.

Situation

The company was undergoing a comprehensive change process with the aim of making its brick-and-mortar stores fit for the future. The new store concept included digital touchpoints to support advice and expand services at the point of sale. However, an overarching concept and operational management were lacking for the technical implementation and a sustainable integration architecture.

Procedure

DI Experts took on responsibility for process and architecture consulting for the digital platform to be used in the stores. This included recording existing processes and systems and adapting them to future requirements. At the same time, the project management for technical implementation and stakeholder management was taken on. The team coordinated the service providers involved, ensured clarity in the interaction of the systems and managed technical decisions. The aim was to seamlessly integrate all digital elements in the store with the existing system landscape and consulting processes.

Result

The new store concept was successfully piloted. The digital platform enabled a seamless connection between advice and digital information - with positive feedback from employees and customers. The clear architecture and structured approach created the basis for scaling and further rollouts.
