Program to increase productivity in the order-to-cash process at a medical technology company

Order

The client commissioned DI Experts to design and implement a two-year program to increase productivity in ten key areas of the order-to-cash process. The aim was to increase transparency at management level, standardize quality assurance and sustainably optimize the processes of the Program Management Office.

Situation

The existing order processing system lacked a uniform overview, consistent quality assurance and efficient PMO structures. These deficits made it difficult to make well-founded decisions at management level and prevented the specified productivity targets from being achieved.

Procedure

DI Experts initially established a structured communication framework with regular status reports, presentations and meeting schedules to keep all stakeholders transparently informed. At the same time, a risk management framework was introduced to identify potential risks in the order-to-cash process at an early stage and define suitable countermeasures. To ensure project quality, the consultants rigorously reviewed the existing plans and key performance indicators to identify savings and optimization potential. At the same time, DI Experts set up clear communication channels between the individual work areas and the management level to ensure targeted support for critical process steps.

Result

The new PMO framework provided management with regular, reliable insights into the progress of all sub-projects, which significantly increased transparency. Standardized quality assurance and proactive risk management led to measurable increases in efficiency and reduced disruptions during the course of the project. Thanks to the clear management reporting, the management was able to take targeted measures and sustainably improve productivity in the ten areas under review.
