Professional experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in leading or managing complex M&A projects as PMO, sub-project manager or transformation consultant.
  • Proven responsibility in multi-stakeholder projects related to technology, organization, processes and communication.
  • Experience in both pre-merger preparation (e.g. synergies, target operating model, readiness) and post-merger implementation (e.g. integration planning, project management, change management).

Pre-merger phase
  • Development of integration strategies and target images
  • Definition of governance structures, decision-making channels, escalation paths
  • Establishment of a transaction-oriented PMO to manage streams such as IT, HR, finance and communication
  • Implementation of readiness assessments, risk analyses and preparation of integration planning
Post-merger phase
  • Control of day-one management and operational implementation from closing
  • Orchestration of end-to-end integration projects incl. cutover planning
  • Monitoring & reporting on synergies, milestones, risks and resources
  • Support for cultural integration and stakeholder communication

Certifications & Qualifications

  • PRINCE2 or PMI PMP® or IPMA® Level C/B (Project Management Professionalism)
  • Scrum Master (PSM I/II or CSMP) - for agile projects
  • Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner or comparable change management training
  • ITIL® Foundation or Service Management knowledge
  • M&A-specific training (e.g. M&A Integration Training, PwC / ESMT / PMI)
  • Optional: knowledge of controlling/finance, post-deal IT infrastructure
